Maya Angelou

Maya Angelo is a very talented person. She is a very hard worker and contributed a lot to black history month. I think that Maya Angelou is a great teacher. She taught us that as black people of we can do anything if we just believe. Maya was born on
April 4, 1928. Her parents names are Bailey and Vivian Johnson. Maya was known for her amazing poems. But she is known for many other things like an award-winning writer, a journalist, an activist, a performer, an actress, a director, and a teacher. Maya is still living today.

At the age of sixteen, Maya gave birth to her son, Guy Johnson. At age 22, she married Tosh Angelou, though marriage didn’t last but a couple of years. In order for Maya to support Guy and herself, she had to get jobs as a waitress, cook, and a night club singer.
